Maytag Jetclean Plus Series MDB4709AWS Full Console Dishwasher – Stainless Steel

Perfect 34″ Height Dishwasher, April 18, 2011

I moved into my current house almost a year ago. Needed to replace the horrid Bosch dishwasher the previous owners had. I don’t plan on staying in this home for more than 3 more years, so I didn’t want to buy a product that cost more than 0 – but I needed stainless steel. I also needed to buy a 34″ height dishwasher – NOT 35″ height! (common in older homes but a huge factor since there are a lot less to choose from when you take the height into consideration). In my last home I had a whirlpool (for almost 6 yrs) and LOVED it. Maytag is made by Whirlpool (and Whirlpool only makes 35″ height machines) so I was automatically drawn to Maytag. I have had the Maytag for 2 weeks. Here is what I’ve found…

1) Price is right. It’s not expensive because it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t work well or loud.

2) Super easy to install. My husband and I were able to install it in no time – less than an hour from start to finish (with 2 little ones driving us crazy).

3) Yes, you have to push the door closed – but it’s not ridiculously tough, like another reviewer said. My 21 month old can close it until it clicks.

4) It’s not loud, it’s not quiet. It’s a normal sounding dishwasher. It’s exactly what you’d expect a dishwasher to sound like.

5) Most importantly – my dishes are clean! After months of having dirty dishes from the Bosch – I cannot tell you how pleased I was to just empty the dishwasher and not have to re-wash!

The machine comes with a 1 year warranty so I’m unclear why others said they had so much trouble. (no, I don’t know how extensive the warranty…) Be assured that if this machine fails – I will update my review!

I have had my Maytag for 6 years and its performed great.

Does a great job and its not too loud.

I can have it going and talk on the phone or watch TV without beng distracted.

I bought the least expensive unit, great value.

The machine had a piece of plastic in the disposal when first installed

Maytag sent out a repairman right away at no charge to me.

I would recommend Maytag products to any of my friends

Complete garbage, November 9, 2010

Wouldn’t touch maytag dishwashers. All we have had are problems from the motor to the racks, and door latch. Customer service were the most unhelpful group of people I have ever delt with.
