Wonderful Dishwasher, By
I have had the portable Frigidaire for about 6 months. It does a wonderful job cleaning the dishes. I never have any food particles on any dishes. I am amazed at how many dishes it holds. I have a couple of really large pots that won’t fit, but everything else will. The cup rack on top is very handy. I can put measuring cups and other small items under the rack and they don’t go flying around the dishwasher. It is very easy to move into place and doesn’t require a lot of space to store. It is really quiet. The only time I can hear it is when it empties. It has a normal cyle and pots and pans cycle both do a good job. It will also heat the water for you if your water isn’t quite hot enough for cleaning dishes. I considered the Danby and Haier but the negative reviews scared me so I payed a little more for the Frigidaire and I am glad I did. I would highly recommend this dishwasher.

A fantastic portable dishwasher., By
I am very glad I decided to spend the extra money on the Frigidaire. The dishwasher is solid and compact. It rolls easiliy around my kitchen, and is super easy to hook up. No nightmare stories like some of the other brands I’ve read about. It is reasonably quiet, or as loud as other dishwashers are. It was bigger than I expected inside, and holds a good amount of dishes for an 18″ wide space. I have been running this machine solid for several weeks now, and it was a blessing to have at Christmas with many of my relatives over for dinner. Life is GRAND now that I own this dishwasher. What an upgrade after handwashing all my dishes for the past 10 years.

Don’t do it!,
This review is from: Frigidaire FMP330RGS 18 Portable Dishwasher – White
I’ve owned this POS for about 2 yrs. Bought it from a local family owned appliance store, like another reviewer. It replaced an ancient Kenmore unit that finally gave up the ghost after more than fifteen hard years. What’s wrong with it you ask? 1) Doesn’t get the dishes as clean as the old unit. Powdered detergent coalesces into a fossilized lump and stubbornly remains in dispenser, and liquid doesn’t clean at all well, so we have to use the substantially more expensive tabs. 2) White laminate on the top is about 1.5 microns thick. A hard sneeze (or so it seems) chips it to reveal what ever black substrate is underneath. At front edge of top, substrate is swelling – apparently from heat/escaping steam, and laminate is cracked. A lot. 3) Top rack requires quite a bit of finesse to operate and feels as if it may collapse as you push it into the unit. 4) discharge hose broke off of faucet connector 18 seconds after warranty expired. 5) Hoses hate to be pushed back into dark void of machine’s interior and thus fight you every inch of the way. Sorry, but I wouldn’t give you fifty bucks for another one of these, much less the almost 0 I did pay. It’s just junk. Update 3/5/11: Now, the detergent dispenser door refuses to open at all and actually dispense detergent. Also, upper spray arm doesn’t. Or, rather, didn’t, until I replaced the entirely inadequate gasket seal between sprayer arm and tube on bottom of top rack with an o-ring. I hate this thing. Oh, BTW, I first posted this glowing review on Frigidaire’s website and, surprise surprise, it hasn’t shown up there. |
